Write
the Vision
One thing I know beyond a
shadow of a doubt: If I can get what I know about success
and prosperity into your heart, your life will be changed.
God has miracles waiting just around the
corner for you. As you begin to discover and act on the principles
of prosperity found in His Word, those miracles are going
to start to show up! Your only limitations are those that
you set up in your own mind or those that you allow others
to set up for you.
I know what I’m talking about. I’ve
had to overcome some big limitations, and I’ve always
seen God come through as I stayed obedient to His Word.
You see, I quit school in the eleventh
grade and started out in life without even the benefit of
a high school diploma. My first job was driving an ice truck.
I found out quickly that I could starve to death in the wintertime
trying to sell ice!
Despite the handicap of quitting school
early, today I have a Ph.D. in Finance, a Ph.D. in Literature,
and two Ph.D.’s in Philosophy. In every job I’ve
ever taken in my life, anyone who knows me will tell you that
I have always gone straight to the top.
For instance, years ago I went to work
as an accounting clerk for American Airlines. A year and a
half later, I was chief accountant for the airline company.
Later, I went to work selling vacuum cleaners. It wasn’t
long before I became the number-one vacuum cleaner salesman
in the world.
Then, I started working for Farmer’s
Insurance and decided that I would become their number-one
agent in the nation. At the time, the company had fourteen
thousand agents, some of whom had been working for Farmer’s
for thirty years. Seven years later, I was ranked as the number-one
agent in the nation for Farmer’s Insurance. I also set
a goal to sell the largest life insurance policy that had
ever been sold by an agent in the company. Today I still hold
that record.
Did I achieve these accomplishments because
I possess extraordinary talents? No, I just knew that I could
do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. (Philippians
4:13)
I believed that, by God’s grace, I
could accomplish what I set out to do if I didn’t lose
heart and I didn’t lose faith.
I also made it a point to learn biblical
principles of success and prosperity. Then I acted on those
principles day by day, month by month, and year by year.
One thing I always made a point of doing
was to write down my specific goals and plans -- short-range,
medium-range, and long-range. When I first started to do this
as a young man, I was the only one I knew who did it. But
I had discovered the principle of writing down my vision and
my goals in Habakkuk 2:2-3, and I knew it was important to
act on it:
“And the Lord answered me,
and said WRITE THE VISION, and make it plain upon tables,
that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for
an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie:
though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come,
it will not tarry.”
Over the years, I have found this practice
of writing down my goals and plans to be a key to my successful
endeavors. I don’t just write down my goals; I surround
them with written promises from the Word. That helps build
up my faith in my ability to achieve those goals. I also always
acknowledge God, writing next to each goal: “Through
Christ, I can do this!”
Also, every day I read my goals and God’s
promises pertaining to them. This keeps me from talking negatively
about my plans and help plant seeds of faith in my subconscious
mind about accomplishing what I have set out to do.
You see, your subconscious mind doesn’t
know a lie from the truth. All it knows is what you tell it.
If you tell your subconscious mind three times a day, seven
days a week, that you are going to achieve certain goals,
a day will soon come when you truly believe it!
Now please understand, I didn’t tell
you these things about my past to impress you. God didn’t
call me to go out and show everyone how many degrees I have
or how many records I have set. He called me to lead His people
out of poverty! I told you about my own life so you would
believe me when I say this to you:
You can become the person you want to become
--
• If you want to badly enough.
• If you are willing to pay the price.
• If you will pursue your goals according
to God’s Word.
Whatever your mind can conceive yourself
to be, by the grace of God, you can achieve.
I fully believe that most Christians live
and die without realizing the greatness that God placed in
them. I don’t want that to be said of you; so whatever
tools I can place in our hands to help you, whatever words
I can say to inspire you, whatever prayers I can pray to uplift
you -- I am ready and willing to do my part.
Please take advantage of the books I have
written. Each is designed to set you on the path to becoming
the success God intends for you to be. Each is packed with
scriptural principles and nuggets of wisdom to help you rise
straight to the top in every endeavor of life. One book in
particular, The Leding Action Plan for Success, will give
you the practical guidelines you need to write down your goals
and plans and then see them through to completion.
I am also eager to hear from you regarding
any prayer requests that you would like to share. I promise
to join my faith with yours in believing God for a miracle
that is above all that you could ask, dream, hope, or imagine!
